Very Pinterest-ing

Friends warned me it was highly addictive and boy, were they right. I am embarrassed to admit that last night I was up until 2 am looking through all the neat things people have pinned. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Pinterest.com is a site where you can find and share recipes, DIY craft ideas, fashion, photography, teaching or event-planning resources, etc… It’s basically everything you might like on the Internet, organized into categories.

While I am determined not to let this app take over my life like Farmville did in 2010, I do see the value of ‘pinning’ things you like. When you ‘pin’ you give love for something that resonates with you. When you feel love for any thing, idea or project, you automatically attract it to yourself. You declare to the Universe that you want it, thereby fueling the creative process and opening yourself up to receive it.

The Creative Process

Love—All creation begins with love. What do you feel love for? What would you like to see manifest in your life? The first step in creating your future is to feel overwhelming love for it.

Love this staircase!

Focus—Where your mind goes, your energy flows. Surround yourself with images that represent what you want. Visualize, affirm, pray or meditate—use whatever methods feel right to you, but do so in the spirit of gratitude as if you have already received what you want.

This is future me. No big deal.

Action—The Universe will take you part of the way, but no one gets anywhere just by making a dream board or pinning things they like. Identify what you need to do, and take steps towards that every day.

I need to get that mouse off of my head already.

Trust—Be patient with yourself and with the process of creation. Doubt and fear will only set you back . Trust that what you desire is already yours. It’s in the process of coming to you.

Because it is.

“Whatever you can imagine is waiting for you, fully created in the invisible, and the way to make it visible is to harness the force of love by imagining and feeling what you love.” Rhonda Byrne
